Chercher un enseignant de Bataireacht – Finding a Bataireacht instructor

Plusieurs personnes cherchent présentement ces rares et mystérieux enseignants de bâton irlandais… ;-). Il faut garder en tête que cet art commence à peine à ressurgir de l’ombre et que les écoles qui l’enseigne ne sont donc pas aussi nombreuses que celles de karaté ou de Judo! Si vous avez une école de bâton irlandais près de chez vous, traditionelle (ou Sean Nos) de plus, vous avez une chance inouie! Si vous cherchez une école, envoyez moi un courriel et je pourrais, au meilleur de ma connaissance, vous indiquez des contacts possibles. Pour ce qui est d’aller apprendre en Irlande, sachez que ceci demeure très laborieux, je en connais qu’une personne qui le faisait ouvertement (soit mon professeur) mais suite aux agissements de personnes de mauvaises intentions (menaces, intimidation envers sa famile), il est devenu beaucoup moins ouvert à prendre de nouvelles personnes.

Gardez à l’esprit que les arts martiaux ne sont pas un droit mais un privilège, et de nombreuses personnes ont démontrés leur envie d’apprendre ces arts en voyageant sur de grandes distances. Les professeurs sont aussi pour la plupart ouverts à tenir des stages à l’étranger et certains acceptent l’ouverture de groupes d’études (des groupes de pratiquants sous la tutelle d’un enseignant habitant plus loin).

It seems many people are seeking those rare and mysterious Irish stick instructors… ;) The thing we have to keep in mind is that Irish stick renaissance is quite recent, and thus the schools who teach its use are rare and disparate, quite unlike karate of Judo! If you have an instructor or a group near you, even more if it is a Sean Nos or traditional style, then you are terribly lucky! If you are looking for a school, send me an email and I will try to help you the best I can. And about learning directly to the source in Ireland, be warned that due to the acts of some ill intentioned people (threats, intimidation toward his family), the only instructor I know (the man who taught me) is now rather closed to taking new students.

Keep in mind that martial arts are not a right but a privilege, many people showed their interest by travelling far and wide to learn these arts. Many instructors are also open to seminars and opening study groups (a group of people practising under the tutelage of an instructor living afar)
